Jeff Holloway is a Waterloo Mechanical Engineer with
over 28 years of local and international experience in the
pipeline, gas
processing and power generation industries. He has extensive expertise in all
aspects of pipeline facilities ranging from project feasibility, project management,
project engineering, compression and pump application, field engineering, commissioning and
start-up of gas transmission, gas processing and oil
and gas gathering facilities.
Areas of Expertise:
- Application of gas turbines to
compression to pipelines and power
generation,
- Dense phase pipelines and related facility requirements
- Compressor and pump station design
- Meter station design
- Electric driver options
- Magnetic bearings, Dry gas seals (Sweet and Sour Applications)
- Sonic Flaring
Applications:
- Feasibility studies
- Sizing, locating, and cost estimating
- Basic engineering and preliminary designs
- Bid documents, specifications and evaluations
- Compression application optimization
Experience:
- Preliminary design and feasibility studies on the Alliance Pipeline in Canada
and the USA. This pipeline is a dense phase pipeline designed to transport high liquid
content gas at 1740 psi through a 36" pipeline across North America.
- Design verification, construction quality control and start-up of the
USSR/Turkey Natural Gas Pipeline system. This system included over 700 km of 36 and 24
inch pipeline, 11 large meter stations and one 30 MW compressor station. Experience also
in hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems, gas handling equipment selection and the design
of mechanical piping systems including piping stress analysis.
- A specialist in all sequences involved in project engineering, design and field
services, he has worked on pipeline and facility projects in Canada, Finland, Turkey and
Australia. As well as Power Generation projects in Libya, Columbia and Canada.
