Wes provides a wealth of experience in the stress areas of both pipeline and
compression station design. Wes presently performs stress analysis for Westcoast
Transmission, TransGas, Nova and numerous other companies in the Western Canadian area.
With over 15 years experience in the areas of mechanical stress analysis, pulsation and
vibration analysis, including application of mechanics, project finite element analysis,
structural analysis and fluid mechanics.
Notable works include:
· Stress analysis and design of plant piping including high temperature design and pipeline systems and support structures, subject to dynamics seismic vehicular and wind loads.
· Extensive use of Finite Element Method computer programs and of personal and mainframe computers.
· Protection design of buried pipelines
· Stress analysis and design of flare-stacks
· Stress analysis and design of pressure vessels, including flame arrestors, and support structures subject to seismic vibrations
· Stress analysis of pipeline bends and facilities such as block valve and scraper
trap assemblies.
